In the midst of the national art show Race in America, Samantha Jones, Robert Williamson, and Darius Taylor will present three Civil War elegies by Walt Whitman, followed by Professor Joe Benevento's reading of Whitman's elegy at the death President Lincoln, entitled When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd.
This event is hosted by the Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration Committee and Sigma Tau Delta (English Honorary Society). Refreshments will follow the readings.
